Balancing Stick

Rounding out the Balancing Series comes Balancing Stick or Tuladandasana.  Again the benefits are mental and physical.  Mentally its furthering your mastery of balance, focus, and determination.  Balancing Stick may just be the longest 10 seconds you have ever experienced.

The physical benefits of Balancing Stick span the entire body.  As seen in Standing Head to Knee, that rock solid locked knee is strengthening the leg from hip to the toes.  The posture firms the hips, butt, and upper thighs.  Balancing Stick increases circulation and strengthens the heart muscle while increasing and stretching the capacity of the lungs.  Balancing Stick is wonderful for bad posture as it stretches, strengthens the flexibility of the latissimus, deltoid, and trapezius muscles.
